The one with the long plastic runners for a 4-cylinder SDI, sold in Europe. Used is just fine! I only need the upper, plastic section. It looks like this:
Thanks.
Can anyone get me a part number on this plastic 4-cyl SDI upper intake manifold? Anyone running Euro-ETKA that could look this up for me? Thanks!
Here's the number I got, for the top plastic part:
038 129 713 H
I dont have any way of checking it though, our system at work wont pull up euro parts....
I pulled it from a Russian site- basically has a version of ETKA with euro models online:
http://www.elcats.ru/audivw/The main and sub groups are in russian, which is easy enough to translate with a separate window of babelfish open:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trBut there are lots of pictures and the individual parts are in english.
Hope this can help some. That is a nifty looking manifold. Just what do you plan on doing with it?

Thanks that is helpful!
Edit: oh by the way, what I plan on doing with it is seeing if it will fit under the hood on my Rabbit 1.6lTD. But first I've got to see if I can track one that's at a reasonable enough price.
If not, I am considering making a custom long-runner tubular manifold. There was disussion of both these ideas on this thread on the old forum:

I got an e-mail back from an importer who can can get it for me for a little over $100 - not that bad, I am thinking about it. It is not much more than the Dealer would charge someone in Germany to buy I don't think.
Anyway I am thinking about doing it... Do you guys think I could make this fit under the hood of my Rabbit without the sound deadening hood insulation but with the factory TD pump potentially in the way? If I get it and it won't fit, that would be a waste, but maybe I just need to order it and see.

So just the top portion? Why not the bottom as well? Fitament issues?
The SDI intake manifold has come up before over at TDI club.
There are guys there who figure that using the SDI manifold will
make it easier to run an FMIC and cut down on pipework.
As for making things fit, the full crossflow ABA engine with manifolds fits under the A1 chassis hood, but I seem to recall hearing that the throttle body has issues with one of the hood supports.
Alternately, and I don't know if the rules allow this, you could lower your engine 1/2" for extra space up top. Or invert the sheetmetal on the hood (make the center higher than the fenders), or add a big honking ram-air style hood scoop.
How about a shaker hood for the Rabbit?

I don't need the lower piece because it wouldn't fit - it would stick out backwards too far and interfere with the 1.6lTD turbo. I would just fabricate it myself - I have the lower part of a stock sawed-off TD intake that I would extend upwards as necessary with aluminum tube, and weld on an aluminum plate that would make a mounting flange for the plastic upper piece.
Can you find any pictures of the SDI manifold installed on an engine without the plastic engine cover in the way? I'd love to see more on how it mounts to the engine, especially in relation to the injector lines and injection pump. Might help visualize how it would sit on top of the 1.6lTD.
Actually, the rules did recently make an allowance for changing motor mounts... the engine may be able to be lowered by making custom mounts, or by flipping the side mounts upside-down. That said, I'd rather not mess with my motor mounts again for a while. :?
The 1.9l block is supposedly about an inch taller than the 1.6l block, right? People seem to fit those so, I think there is probably going to be room on top of the valve cover. It's just in front where the plenum is near the LDA device and injector lines that I am mainly concerned about.
Thanks for your help...
fspGTD if you order the complete intake I'll buy the lower off you that way I don't have to build a lower for my manifold.
If it's not HUGE money.
http://www.elcats.ru/audivw/vag5.asp?subm=%CF%EE%E8%F1%EA&btsnr=129-26&cid=203Elcats lists the lower aluminum piece (shown as part number 2 in the diagram) for about $150. Based on his price he quoted me for the upper plastic part, which was in line with elcats price plus a little extra shipped, I think the total cost might be around $160 US shipped. Would it be worth that much to you?
(Hmmm... Too bad we can't find someone with a used setup for cheaper... I could get the plastic upper and you could take the aluminum lower. I'll keep my eyes peeled for us...)
Still not very certain if the plastic upper would fit, so still undecided whether I'm going to order it or not.

Oh, and Jake, it's not as cheap as you think... I paid USD$655 to have two shipped from Germany, both lower and upper manifold, mounting bracket, and all bolts. Basically everything you see in the above ETKA screenshot minus the airbox and the EGR valve body.
If you can find one for $100, GRAB IT! Heck, get me some more! ....
