Boring GTD-AAZ nozzle question.

I've been scanning through pages of search results and I can't quite find what Im after...

Will GTD nozzles fit AAZ injector bodies and work with the 2 stage injection or is it just better to replace with GTD injectors and pipes?
 Do the GTD nozzle flow more than the AAZ items?
Also, setting the pop off pressure, if it's out you shim the spring, where do you get shims? I have a pressure tester for checking but I just use recon Bosch injectors for customers cars and my local factors aren't right helpful in lookin on the systems for shims for me.

Seeing as the next project has started and I am getting used to a bog stock 1.6TD Vanagon Westy I thought I better come back here, read some Diesely stuff to get the enthusiasm going again and maybe start and rebuild this AAZ I have sat at the garage.
Stage one is done, I have replaced the tired oil pump that suffered surge with a Brasilian "Shadek" item, who's pick up funnel is much lower in the sump resulting in me being able to hammer around roundabouts without the buzzer of doom scaring me to death!
Stage 2 was a 25 row 230mm oil cooler plumbed up to the front of the van with a thermostatic sandwich plate and a 70 degree coolant thermostat.
As usual tappets, pump and cam timing were a mile out, so all reset on the 1.6TD till the 1.9TD is built..

Any help appreciated.

Not sure about your nozzle question; but I'm sure your local Lucas Service centre would be helpful for the shims

The GTD nozzles are a direct replacement for the AAZ nozzles and carry a bit higher pintle lift and taper. The VW dealership should sell the shims but other than that I'm not sure who else would have them in your corner of the world.

They mean the RA/SB engine injector nozzles.

In your opinion is this a worthwhile mod on a AAZ, or are the stock injectors okay?
I don't want to go mad, just want something thats not going to struggle pulling 2 people and a kid at reasonable motorway speeds.
AAZ intercooled, oil cooled, pump mods, injectors should see 100-ish horse power right?

I am literally dropping a AAZ into my mk1 golf right now, going from 1.6 n/a to 1.9 TD with a garrett T3 turbo off a 1.6TD,i drove the mk3 transplant car and it was nippy,that was with p/s and a cat,so im hoping with my one box performance exhaust and no cat or p/s and a 900kg car instead of 1440 kg it will fly  :twisted:

OK, i was puzzeled a little, because  there was Mk3 GTD, and RA/SB wasn't neceseary GTD...

Yes. But they like to call them GTD's.
