Injector Pump Leaking!!!
« on: August 31, 2006, 03:00:23 pm »
Hey guys, My 92 jetta eco diesel injector pump has recently started leaking. I believe it is due to the new low sulphur diesel, i'm runnign an additive, but ran about a tank before noting i need to... It looks like a steady drip while it it running from the bottom, right side of the pump if you are facing it. there seems to be a dimple there, but i can't tell if theres a simple seal to be replaced or somethign to atleast bandaid the problem for a while. If anyone had a parts breakdown/microfiche of the Ecodiesel pump that would be cool. I'm also thinkign about finding a used TD pump, so if anyone has one that would be cool too...
Thanks
TJ

Sorry to hear about the pump (my pump started pouring last week).  Search the site b/c I have seen the pump manual on a thread somewhere.  If you are looking for a used pump, keep an eye on ebay.  They pop up all of the time.

I just ordered a manual and a timing belt kit so i can change that while i have her all apart. I picked up a used ip from a turbo diesel from a guy that is lending me the tools to do the job for a good price, so i should be back in buisiness getting good mileage with a pump that i can play around with a bit... Seems as long as the job goes well that this was for the better.. And i plan on runnign a bit of 2 stroke oil in my diesel when i get the new pump...
Thanks
