They quoted me $56 each for the 2C2-1.
Since it was special order, 3-4 weeks backorder, and would be drop shipped from Westach, they had no idea what shipping would be.
... so I called westach and got a shipping quote,... but bought it through aircraft spruce because it was a little cheaper, and easier to just send one money order.

Pre-turbo is a more accurate reading as it isn't affected by the amount of heat energy recovered by the turbo (variable).

I wanted to make a note here.  The setup from www.aircraftspruce.com that I would recommend is this:

Gauge: $48.95 part # 10-01273 (it reads down to below 100*F and so can be used for cool-down)

Sender: $23.85 part # 10-01478 (fast reacting with threaded installation good for pre-turbine)

Lighting kit: $4.35 part # 10-01229 (you want to see it at night too)

Total cost is less than $80.  Not bad at all.

Andrew

Looks like I'll be getting this set-up for my GTD, only £55GBP (with the updated prices & current exchange rate) which is a great price! I've been quoted up to £200 just for the sender ! then getting the gauge to go with it was another £100...  :o

Only hope the shipping isn't too much!  ;D

When my money comes through on Wednesday I reckon I'll be making a cross Atlantic call  ;D

Not sure where/what boost gauge to get though, Halfords apparently sell them for about £20  ???  but what quality are they coming from Halfords....  ???

Boost gauges shouldn't cost a ton - they're just a run of the mill pressure gauge when it comes down to it.  If a $20 bicycle pump can include a perfectly good pressure gauge then paying $20 for just the boost gauge by itself is pretty reasonable!

This doesn't apply to lots of other things - EGT gauges for instance cost more because what they're measuring is more complicated.  Also you have to think about what the effect of a faulty gauge would be - a faulty boost gauge probably won't be responsible for your motor getting trashed.
