Now I definitely need to do some tuning/mods. As fate would have it, I lined up next to a DHL dodge sprinter at a traffic light last night. I took off and then I saw all the diesel smoke come out of the rear of the sprinter. He shot past me and kept going. I'd say he beat me by about 20 carlengths
. I'm surprised, I didnt think they could move like that. Man my car is pathetic

Yeah, my jetta was laid low by a Brown UPS Sprinter goin uphill on the highway. Passing lane opened up and as I pulled up beside him, he looked over, waved and booted it. No only did he leave me in the dust there but he also did a fine job in the twisty bits that followed.

one of the wickedest brake-torque burnouts I ever saw was in a sprinter. Almost fully loaded with compressor repair equipment!
LOVE the way the rear doors swing around and magnet themselves to the sides. Brilliant.

I... don't typically do things in/on moving vans... other than sit in them! But I suppose if the need arose, one might wish those magnets were a little stronger.

Those trucks are fast especially when they're empty...

my first truck experience happened in saudi arabia, me and a bunch of freinds going in a cressida GLX 3.0 on a highway - we see a passing light indication in the rear - and we are doing abt 220 km/h, gas booted to the metal we take up the lost torque, the torque convertor locks up we feel a slight power surge come on in the car.
then this BIG GARGANTUAN mercedes benz rig comes up from the left, whose turbos were so loud we could hear them as if we were abt 2 inches from our ears. And it picks up speed - we were doing abt 240 at the time and it passed us -DAMN - we felt underpowered.
I later on checked one of these machines at a truck stand - a driver was pakistani so he showed me the works - it used two schwitzer turbos nearly equal to a Holset HX60 as its primary unit and the secondaries were some insane ones in which I could stick my entire head into, The weirdest part is that the wastegates were electric, the engine was a V12 something north of 12 litres and its transmission was something in itself - an automatic about the same length as a VW Golf - insane eh - I presume the germans are great in engineering vehicles no matter cars, trucks bikes etc.

When I had my NA Golf, I used to race trucks pulling large trailers and still lose. Now that I have a TD Jetta, I can usually keep up with Semi trucks without trailers, old beat ass Hyundais, trucks with horse trailers, etc.
