Free: Brand new QA from 11mm TDI pump, wires cut
« on: August 17, 2006, 03:06:51 pm »
I got a brand new 11mm pump a while back, it was cheap, but the QA was screwed as the wires were cut and one is some sort of fiber optic deal, Kyle at Diesel fuel injection in portland said there was no way to splice/repair them so I got another QA, I now have this one, not good for much, but I figure someone here might have some ideas for it, maybe make it work mechanically somehow.

I'll leave this up for a week or two, the guy that has the best plans for it gets it, but has to pay shipping.

So what are you going to do with it?

It seems like one could run a shaft through the cover and weld it to the bit on the bottom that actually rotates to controll fuel delivery and voila, M-TDI (No LDA  ), getting the shaft to seal to the cover to keep the fuel inside would be the biggest problem, maybe a valve stem seal? So yea, what do you have planned?

Actually you cant really make a mechanical pump with that top as there is no provision for the governor wheel and weights. I just want to learn more about the electronic controls, take it all apart and see what I can do to make it better.
