Finally mounted my ECOdiesel turbo...

After a long time searching I found a rebuilt turbocharger with nothing but bench miles, basically fresh. part no. 068145704D
After even more searching, I finally tracked down someone in the UK parting out a few GTDs and got some drain lines shipped over.
1. the 1.6 intake elbow does not work...i managed to get it on but its kinked and does not sit well at all. going to try and use an AAZ elbow and AAZ k14 rubber hose.
2. the usual 1.6 intake heat shields do not work...had to grind down the lower one to clear a bolt and the top one wouldnt fit at all.
2. the turbo inlet is much smaller than the usual k24/T3...i had to build up the difference with duct tape...will need to find an intake pipe and apparently airbox as well is different.
4. supply line is different...the k14 sits about 1" or 1.5" lower than k24..i bent to fit but did not like it at all.
5. the turbo seems to have a slight rotation over k24/t3...i have TT downpipe so it has some give but just barely.
anyone have any spares? i usually try to be thorough..right now i feel like driving a gingerbread house..

How she currently sits. The inlet pipe is also ecoDiesel but the intake neck and rubber pipe are AAZ along with a blocked off blowoff valve which the ECO intake does not have a boss for.
So far, I don't have to wait for boost, EGTs are low but I'm only able to make 11psi before the wastegate opens.

If you are only making 11 psi boost max then start adjusting the rod at the exhaust flange side. Run the two nuts to make the rod longer and the boost should go up. Or is it the other way around? Just change it one way or the other and you will figure it out.
I am rethinking, the boost builds and then pushes that rod out and opens the wastegate. So less boost would open a longer rod and more boost would be needed for a shorter rod. OH Crap, change something, what else do you have to do with your tinker time?

So far I've tried adjusting the little beehive wastegate by turning the threaded rod IN one full turn...no perceptible effect. Giles thinks that screw is only for wastegate valve travel although spring tension would not only reduce travel but opening pressure...i don't know enough.
Some ood threads here suggested using a humidifier needle adapter to pierce the hard-line on the turbo to bleed pressure and have the wastegate open later.

I used a longer screw for the waste gate, and it works pretty good, you can fuel it a little harder, adjust boost and then back down fueling till no smoke, fmic is a must for those turbos,
The biggest one I could fit for my TDI is the Laguna MK2 intercooler.

the screw on the kkk turbo wastegates just sets how far the wastegate valve can open. You need a manual boost controller in order to change the max boost without limiting higher rpm flow.

Any pics of the IC setup? Did you have to run custom plumbing or were you able to adapt something
