Well, after lady luck, or the cosmic whore or whatever you want to call her
donkey-kicked Smokey's project in the teeth several times, he's got it all back together and better than ever!
He did GTECH runs and with perfectly clean exhaust, managed an average of 129 net hp. Account for drivetrain loss, a slight incline and aerodynamic resistance... do the math.... Pretty impressive. All with a manifold-to-turbo exhaust leak! (gonna have to get those planed flat again)

Later at 195km/h it was still accelerating!! (don't try it at home kids. We've got the perfect test road.)

So there's more boost to squeeze from that turbo, and pump tuning before that.

12mm GILES PUMP.... GOTTA HAVE ONE!!

I repair, maintain and modify VW's and BMW's.
Good work done at affordable rates. Welding and fabricating, too.
Performance Diesel Injection's Super Pump: gotta have one!

its a hell of alot of fun. NICE turbo kick. I just need to put some normal sized tires on there (so they dont rub on heavy cornering) and do some tuning and that will be all to do on my 1.6 Untill winter comes (duhhh duhh duhhhhhhhh!) **scary music**

boost is like 26 or 27 psi egts not sure my gauge has been screwin around on me so i unhooked when doing the hg and never hooked it up since. it pulls to just into the gas gauge about the first 3 gears and the rest is around 5600 or 5700.Its very satisfying that its all 1.6 nothing else. I picked up a 1.9 head and I WILL make that work with a nice healthy k26

120 mph holy ish

i had my car to 105mph, and by doing the gearing thing on that scirocco gear up site it looks like i could go 110 at 4500 rpm, which seems about right cause at 105 it could have gone faster but i didn't wann push it.  which ti any other car enthusiast 105 is nothing, but before with out the turbo i would go 85 and that was it

He's got a whopper of an intercooler, it's almost as big as the rad, out of a Saab. After the high speed run, he felt the pipe going into the cooler: HOT
and out of the cooler: COOL.  Seems large surface area and thin core is the way to go!
