seeking expert on vp37 and Zexel Quantity Adjuster sensors
« on: December 26, 2023, 07:29:44 pm »
I can't find info anywhere, I have a Zexel VP37 copy which I can't get parts for that has a faulty governor/QA. I want to replace it with the near identical vp37 which looks identical, same method, same number of sensors and wires. But the parts are not quite interchangeable, like the front seal is 1mm different, the QA board is held in by 3 nuts not 4, etc.

without the data sheets for each, I can't work out if the Denso EDC15 copy powering the Zexel will control the VP37 in the same way.

Any help? Any data sheets? Physically the pump will swap in just fine...

Zexel pump never sold in the UK (Jap grey import) and parts support for it discontinued over a decade ago.

Cheers, Greg

Never heard of this stuff in the VW world I rotate in.  Anything past MK2 is a foreign car to me.
