MTDI dyno
« on: June 09, 2023, 12:44:17 pm »
I didn't see any even remotely recent dyno threads, so figured I'd post mine here. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8TpySXa5rocZPdXC6

Been a while since I have been on. I have a 1Z with a LR300 pump, a Mitsubishi TFO35 VNT that is mechanically controlled, PP520DLC nozzles, and it's all installed in a 1966 Land Rover, with an overdrive. I had to change the dyno results once I realized my transfer case is 1.15:1, reducing the RPM, as the driveshaft was the only place they could pick up the RPM due to no room anywhere else. I was tested at 6000'+-, which is why there is also an altitude corrected graph as well as an uncorrected. At the wheels obviously.

I think with that sort of weight-to-horsepower ratio I would be tempted to embarrass some of these big diesel boys that enjoy clouding the air as they pull away from every light.

I've embarrassed my share ;) Even a slightly older Lexus couldn't keep up after starting from a light on a hill, and you could hear he was trying, hahahah. He stayed back after that. Only problem is my clutch sometimes starts slipping, and one time 3 of the springs came out of the disk when the retainer tabs broke.
