Loose oil pan bolts!

After pulling the stamped metal cover...do I need to check the flywheel for broken teeth?

I'm not sure how those bolts would end up on the pressure plate side of the tin cover.

The bolts are behind the cover, you have to remove it to access them to drop the pan, at least on my car

Yours has the small removeable lower cover right?
I haven't seen one of those in awhile,..
but I'm still thinking the oil pan is outside of it.

i did not know these were not all the same...

Hopefully you can see the rim of the pan going past the plate.

I have never seen that alignment before.  Almost like the engine is into the bell housing a wee bit far.

To access the 2 hidden bolts the stamped cover comes off and they are reached at an angle due to the bellhousing.

I have to say its a little strange that this isn't standard. Is the bellhousing code stamped anywhere? This must be an extra protrusion of the bellhousing past the pan, otherwise there would be dimensional issues relative to the chassis.

Not that I know of.  The only stamp on the bell housing I am familiar with is the date of build and type of transmission that is just on that flat area where you are working.

I think the stamp says AGS.
Those separate lower covers stick out farther toward the engine than I remember.

On a side note I changed the trans oil yesterday and 1. It was short...1.5L at most and 2. It was light brownish and metallic. No discernable metal fragments but it poured like metallic paint, had that sheen on it. If its super old fluid could be just regular wear i suppose but also 5th gear sits higher on the 020, correct?

Correct, so if you were a bit low it would leave 5th kinda dry.  That is why I pull the speedo cable and fill it from there.  Much easier to do that than tip the trans to get what you really need in there.
