Beehive "Turbo Actuator" seat cleaning?

Even tho I could manually move the wastegate valve when tapping with a soft hammer, no amount of air pressure to the port would budge it. I found a dimensionally equivalent on Mamba and ordered it - not sure about the spring pressure.
My question is how to clean the valve seat inside the turbo housing. I've been soaking it with PB Blaster so far. What softens the carbon deposits?

The best way I have found it to use valve grinding paste on the wastegate valve seat and then hand lap the wastegate into the seat.

Is there a way to remove the valve from the assembly? I tried turning the valve by the hex but it just spins.

You could uncrimp the top can, but it is very unlikely that you would be able to assemble it again in any sort of working manner. I have hand lapped several of the K14 and K24 wastegates in the manner I described and just pushed/rotated the entire wastegate in place. They all worked well afterwards.

The actuator isn't working, so disassembling it isn't an issue. A learning experience I probably wont need to repeat lol.

If you cannot get the valve to move with compressed air but you can move the valve by hand (pushing solidly down on it) then most likely the wastegate diaphragm has failed and the wastegate will need to be replaced. Be aware that the K14 and K24 wastegates appear to be the same externally but the valve is a different size and cannot be exchanged.

I have, and ordered a 21mm valve.
The 36mm seat appears to be the same.
Are there any other dimensions that are different.

I believe the valve size is the only difference.
With your old wastegate as junk, you could uncrimp the top, remove the diaphragm, add the valve grinding paste, bolt up the wastegate and use a drill on the valve to make short work of lapping the seat.

Got it apart. Doesn't look like the diaphragm was bad. Valve stem guide was crudded up so bad had to beat the valve out and clean the bore.
Used a needle scaler to get most of the carbon off the seat, will lap the seat next.

I modded the old Beehive to use as a lapping tool. Worked great.
If anyone else with a K14 needs to lap their wastegate seat, I'll loan out the tool.
