MK3 cluster into MK2 (TD)

I have a MK3 wiring hardness with too much things on it (cruise control, A/C, alarm, etc.)
I need to know how the MK3 cluster could work on a MK2 wiring hardness. It's missing the VSS (3 wires). It's still not working!
What's missing?

A wire between E2 to D8 and it works.
I installed the MK3 coolong system on the MK2 wiring. It's simple!

I have trouble
I have only 9V at the E2 to D8 junction.
When I turn the ignition switch on, the display disappear and the cluster doesn't work. The glow plugs indicator works but not the rest.
Do you have an idea?

That's a common problem with the mk3 clusters. Try pulling up on the handbrake and seeing if the cluster works

If that works, means there is a lack of/poor grounding at the cluster, no?
