Hi All,
I have noticed the 2nd speed of my radiator fan coming on more often that i feel it should. On a hill climb the other day i noticed that the 1st stage of the fan turns on just over the warning light of the gauge and 2nd stage at about 3/4 of the gauge. In This is on a Turbo Diesel 1.6TD JX engine 84 Vanagon.
After having a look at my fan thermoswitch i see its a 92-82/87-77 switch.
I suspect my thermostat is a stock 87C thermostat.
My question is should i get a higher temp 102-92/95-85 thermoswitch better? Or maybe a cooler thermostat?
I don't see any harm in having the engine run cooler of course but i don't wanna burn out my fan by having it run full blast like a plane about to take off every time the engine gets a little hot.
Thanks!
