im not sure about this new fuel
my car seems a little low on power
whats a good additive to add cetane and lubricity?
im thinkin redline or stanadyne
that is fine for my car i suppose
but my dad wants to add something in his 03 golf tdi too
whats a safe additive for the cat equipped vehicles?
maybe list the additives that are good for non cat vehicles
then list the additives for cat equipped vehicles too

ULSD has 1% less BTU's in it compared to LSD so it's probably a combo of winterized diesel that is sucking right about now
Powerservice is a good aditive or stenadyne. I use a slurry of Powerservice, canola oil and 2 stroke ashless synthetic outboard.

The ULSD that I have run through is defineately lacking on the lubricity, when I pull on the CS cable with USLD its almost like the car is off, when I have B20 i get about a 4th of the way pulled out before I can feel the timing advance piston. the B20 defineately advances the timing faster. I suspect that your timing curve is lacking and thats why your down on power.
good luck, If it were me I would just start using biodiesel as your additive.

nah,its not a mechanical problem
it started occuring when i filled up here in ny the first time
i got some redline fuel catalyst the other day+that woke it up(but i used 2x the recommended dose)
its not an advance problem

i'm gonna guess it's just the winterized bs, i haven't noticed a difference on any of my cars yet... but i'm waiting, but i also would have a hard time noticing since i have been switching back and forth between cars

yea thats what i was also thinkin
i found one good lift pump in the stackof 15 that i have
when ihave good lift pump pressure, the power is pretty good, like normal
somost of the problem seems to be the pump, and like maybe 10%is because of the fuel
lol,the "good"lift pump that i installed recently only worked good for 2 days
im researching a better pump, and i may even try a cis gas pump, only thing is i gotta find a good regulator,i think
as far as the 15ppm fuel, my dad found our old stash of a case of 32 oz bottles of lubro moly diesel hi test,so that will help for now
when that runs out, i am tempted to add 2 stroke oil like mentioned before, just for the lubricity

I have been using Power Service Diesel Kleen forever, I usually add it 1 1/2 to double strength. I found it always stood up to it's claims of less smoke and increased MPG, 10% in my case, which easily pays for itself..
With ULSD at the pumps now I worry that may not be enough.
Years ago a diesel mechanic told me it was a good idea to run a quart of Type F non synthetic automatic transmission fluid through ever couple of tank fulls. He said it keeps everything clean and lubed.
I also used to work with another old timer that had a Datsun pickup with 350K miles on it, he swore by using Marvel MysteryOil in both the gas tank and crank case.
I was thinking along the lines of Slave2School. A cocktail of Canola, Power Service, and ATF or MMO.
Slave2School, mind if ask the recipie?? and how much per gallon you use.

yea i use atf every once in a while if i have it
sometimes ill prime filters with it
and marvel is good too
some guy at the airport got an old plane running that was sitting for 3 years
and it had sticking valves
we put a bunch of marvel in the fuel and ran it out of a can
whadda you know 20mins of running and no more sticky valves
thats usually caused by gas turning to varnish /gum and making the valve hang in the guide
yea i would think anything with lubrication would help out the pump and injectors, probably even a qt. of cheap motor oil thrown in on a fillup would help
