Alright, alright... my grand ambition of building a diesel Quantum Syncro has ground to a halt.
Finally got around to cleaning the engine block of the one that I got when I bought the car; turns out it's a CN engine, not the DE I thought I was getting.
CN: 65 bhp and not enough torque to move the heavy-arsed Syncro with it's AWD drivetrain. At least not with anything resembling alacrity. I'd just stick the turbo on it and fiddle with the injection pump/replace the injection pump to get the same power out of it, but I planned on tweaking it for some more power later on and I feel that having such things as the piston coolers would be a good idea.
Unless that's really the only bottom end difference between the two, those piston-cooling jets?
So, now I need to find myself a DE. I can offer a CN as a semi-core -slash- trade -slash- whatchawannacallit, but I can't put it in the car as it is now.
