• Well i got the GTD injectors from kermatdi installed (i think they are 1.9azz injectors, people have told me both)  but either way they feel gooooood!  Now i cant wait to mount me intercooler, up the boost somemore, get my exhaust done and haul some ass!!!  :lol:  :lol:

  thanks for the comments guys, but its nothing to what i feel for the added bit of power...i wonder if the injectors were ever replaced or looked at since 1991 :?:

• are the 1.9 a bolt on on 1.6td?
  if i replace should i go for 1.6 gtd(SB) or 1.9 aaz dual stage injectors?

• anarchy i think you should get your injectors done...  you were saying your economy was suffering.  i've got my injectors back from Smog and want to install them asap.  i've bought 2 spare sets of heat shields too... and a new fuel filter
  
  my guess is the butt dyno will reveal much added power!!!  :lol:

• oh ya, certainly a nice increase in power, going up hills and such. Have yet to see how the mileage was affected but hopefully for the better

  i can see mileage go up by... a lot!  i can imagine that worn out injectors would affect timing ever so slightly, and that would dramatically affect mileage/performance.  not to mention that i have been noticing some weird fluctuations in my oil level the past little while... such as oil going up when i'm not adding oil... and i know its not coolant.  coolant level has not budged one bit.  
  
  i've also had to compensate my idle to around 1000-1100 because the engine idles so poorly below that, and power off idle at 950rpm is horrible.  the engine nearly stalls at that rpm.  most likely due to bad injector(s)
  
  with new nozzles & breaking pressure set correctly, the properly metered fuel entering the pre-chamber at exactly the right moment will burn more efficiently.  alter the breaking pressure, and you alter your timing...  i'm pumped to install the gtd nozzled injectors!!!

  I know, I know. I need to do them. I'm just worried about that crack in one of my injector bosses. I cant afford to have any downtime with this car right now as my other car needs a good amount of work and cant be trusted for daily use. Nor can I afford a new cyl.head and whatever else is needed to replace it. There's a good chance I might be able to get the new injectors in without any problems, but I generally haven't had the best of luck when it comes to working on this car.

• well for rebuilt from bosch on autopartsonlinecanada i saw them for around $56 a piece with a $20 core.  i bought 4 injectors from addautomotive for $40 and with that he shipped them directly to smog for me... pretty cool... then smog installed new nozzles and set the pressure for 160 bar i believe.. $125.  so i got a better nozzle than stock and for cheaper than rebuilt by bosch... but the bosch ones look so nice and shiney!!!  :lol:
  
  as for removing them, i'm going to be spraying lots of penetrating lube around the injectors.  thing to remember is that aluminum likes to play when its warm... not when its cold.  when you do decide to do it, make sure the engine is good and hot.  it is also recommended that any force applied be toward the engine and not pulling away.  you will also need to work the injector back and forth (when doing this dont forget to apply pressure toward the engine.. never pull away from the engine even though it might be a little faster..)
  
  i will report back here to how easy/hard it was once i get mine swapped!
