i don;t know whats up tach goes to 3000 and bounces around it and then down to 2800 then i let off and it goes down like normal, anyone know what could be happening? not sure what the cluster came out of got if from "burn-your-money" and it is in a 92 eco diesel.
and second question? a good turbo to upgrade too? any suggestions? thanks alot guys!

If you do have a problem with the tach that can't be fixed send it back. I never reved past 2500 so I had no idea of this issue

burn_your_money, you never rev past 2500rpm?? Are you serious? I can't cruise on the highway without revving at 3000rpm. It's just geared that way. When I accelerate from rest (stop), I routinely bring it up over 3000rpm. The engine won't break. Mine has almost 330,000km.
I bought the car to part it out. I only started it up 3 times in my driveway and I never moved the car, only reved it to verify for myself that everything was working. On my daily I normally take it close to 4k
BTW the problem was solved, it was a partial break in the w-terminal wire
