Sounds like one of the springs popped out of the clutch disc hub, they get jammed up in between the pressure plate and the hub and the clutch won't release. You need less torque... :D  A solid centre disc might stand up better, but might pound out the tranny and it'll be a bit nasty on the street.

diff bolt upgrade,r+p swap
« Reply #5 on: July 21, 2006, 09:56:11 pm »
i think im goin with the clutchnet.com "red" setup
i called them and the guy said that it has at least 2 layers of straps, maybe 3 he didnt have one in front of him,so thats better than 1
imaydrill out the rivits, and bolt them instead
and if its 2 layers, ill add one,and balance it at work i guess

i got a question
can i get a 3.67 ring+pinion from a "16v " tranny or whatever  to swap into my 7a box??
i will probably upgrade the diff with bolts, and i would like to swap a 3.67 in there at the same time and my buddy building my manifold, has a buddywith a bunch of trannys layin around i could steal a 3.67 from........

I used a red PP with a 6-puck from clutchnet on my Dasher - worked great and was still pretty easy to drive every day.  A little more pressure on the clutch pedal, but not bad at all.  Mine was double-strapped.

no i been talkin to him thru an im on the vortex
once i open up a trans  with gene,i dont think we will have too much of a problem redoing gearboxes
he said to get a gas 8v a2 trans most have 3.67's
look on his site  he has the bentley gear chart for the a2's
the 16v r+p has a bigger diameter on the 4th gear area,if we use a 16v r+p we gotta use the other 16v 4th gear, and theres only 2 ratios for 16v 4th gears to choose from
i havent seen what i got ,and what there is to choose from
hey clutchnet said you get a better deal on internet thru their site
its built when ya order it,7-10 days to recieve
my butts over there now
her vr6 is killin me for gas mileage
