new to diesels a few questions

hey guys im new to the diesel world so please bare with me...
i got a 92 eco doesel jetta with a 1.6t
i wanted to know what i could do performance wise.. i have done a itg cone filter and 2" straight pipe all the way out... wanted a new turbo, would mk3 tdi turbos fit or even 1.8t turbos? what injectors should i run and is it worth buying the performance nozzels? would a down pipe make a difference? please point me in the right dirrection on what to do, thanks alot

There is an excellent "how to" in the FAQ section.  It is labeled "make your 1.9TD faster", but all that is in it applies to the 1.6 you have.

My suggestions:  free flowing exhaust and a pump with a turbo LDA.

Welcome to the forum.  It's good to have another local on the board.  The main performance upgrade you can do on an eco is to add the LDA (boost enrichment device) to your injection pump.  Until then, you have a turbo but no extra fuel going in.  You will find that they are hard/impossible to find locally.  Another local board member sent his injection pump to Giles (search him on this site) for a rebuild and LDA addition.  Makes a big difference but it's not cheap.

You mentioned that the exhaust has been upgraded.  If you haven't already, upgrade the downpipe as well.  This will help you get boost almost instantly.  Our turbos are small and have the potential to boost quick and give you around 20psi.
