TDI engine choices
« on: July 10, 2006, 11:49:28 am »
First of all a hello, its a gd forum you have here. I have been reading through the pages of info on tdi engines and i'm a little lost. I have an 89 caddy to which i'd like to fit a 1.9tdi lump. Any donor car newer than 1994 is leccy diesel and is a pig to swap as it needs the ecu and clocks etc. Is there an easy way to get round this? and if not what donor cars with mech injection will fit into the caddy which currently has a 1.6D?

I have already used the search, and will keep doing so

Cheers in advance for any help

throw all the tdi electronics in the backyard+ run them over with a lawnmower,so they wont bother you ever again

then find yourself a 1.6 td fuel injection pump, and put that on

oh you can get a bigger plunger/head swapped on,i think itll run with the 9mm,but get a 12mm like me,or get that new 14mm,yummy

making a tdi to run with no electronics is fairly easy, and i like it better, cause if something breaks, you arent standing on the side of the road  scratching your head looking at "black boxes"
Throttle cables ftw
