Went to lock my power doors today and heard a funny click in the lock and now the power door locks wont work. I dont hear the pump come on in the back any more either. :?:
Where should I start?

?
Lee, thanks for the reply. I take tech calls for a living on diesel products so that was the first thing I checked. It was ok. I am having trouble finding info on how the system works. I guess there is some sort of switch that activates the vac pump in the lock. It seems to be a demand system with no resivoir. I guess I will pull the panels off and start looking.
OK, just saying 'fuse' WAS kinda lame....
Following culled from an A2 Bentley and some experience with my A2 power locks:
Electrical:
Drivers door lock has the electrical switch that turns pump on.
The pump has a 3 wire connector on it. you should get 12V between the centre pin and the 2 outer pins. One outer pin is hot with drivers door locked, other outer pin is hot with drivers door unlocked.
If you have a good fuse but no power to pump, I'd get inside the drivers door first and see if all is well with the master activator.
If power to pump but pump doesnt run, maybe bad pump.
Leaks:
The pump uses pressure to open locks, vacuum to close.
The pump should shut off within 5 seconds unless there is a leak. If it runs longer, then try pinching off the hose right by pump, if it shuts off now, work your way through the car pinching off hose a various points until you find the leak Lots of interior dissasembly may be required to get to hoses!. Dont forget the gas flap and trunk hoses.
But this is a mk3 so it will probably be differant. Maybe not though.
See if you can find a wiring diagram and then check the relay.
Found the problem, now I just have to fix it. It looks like something broke on the lock cylinder. I can pull the lock cylinder right out of the handle now. I will take it apart and hopefully nothing is broken. Any tips?
not sure if you got in there or not yet, but if you have, youll see that the mk3s have a bad degin on the metal peg that connects the cylinder to the vacuum lock mechanism. thats almost certainly what broke. mine breaks every couple of years because im too cheap to buy the 35 upgrade kit at vw...
