eco diesels ran 5-7psi    your in the ballpark,   with proper boost controller, up near 12-15 psi possable.
stock was real low
91 and 92 jettas were not real turbo diesels.   the turbo was only there to help reduse visable soot out the tail pipe by adding more air to the engine

So to make this a true turbo diesel I would need a TD injection pump and bigger turbo? Would the K24 turbo be a direct bolt on?
Thanks

i forget if the eco has oil squirts under the pistons,  if so yes bolt up the pump and turbo and enjoy.

on my eco diesel i left the small turbo and only put the td pump on, but i raised the turbo boost pressure to about 12-15psi (about max for the lil'turbo) and modded the pump a bit (extra fuel, adv timing, changed lda spring to lighter spring etc). i am real happy with the results with the smaller turbo, as i now have full boost about 2,000rpm and a more "useable" powerband. its still no true td bit its a LOT faster than it was stock.

my 86 td has full boost above 3,000
so i gain 1,000 rpm with the smaller turbo on my 91.

i've shoved 35 psi in one but i did not own the car long enough before i got "T" boned in it. it was at 35psi for about a month, then i got hit.
but it held up with 35 for that time
