Just a quick question; where is the fuel pump located in a Rabbit Diesel!?!?!  :oops:

oh DUH! :oops: I thought there was a separate pump from the tank (like in a gasser Rabbit).  :?:

The fuel injection pump is two pumps in one. A vein pump to draw the fuel from the tank and the high pressure distributor pump to distribute precise fuel amounts to the injectors.

It eliminates the need for an auxillary pump, therefore, only having one. The only problem is when the veins dont work anymore, most people have to add an aftermarket one on.

Hi there ,    The vane pump is also the source of presure that opperates the injection timing advance mecanizum thingy......... :wink:

you can add a "lift pump" back where the gasser pump would reside,it helps the vane pump in the injection pump out some,and you may/will notice a power/throttle response improvement :D

Well yeah the fuel pressure determines the injection timing advance, once the pump builds up a certain pressure (pressure from the vanes) the pressure control valve regulates fuel pressure in the the inner chamber in proportion to RPM. The extra fuel than pushes against the sprung timing piston and pushes the timing plunger over which moves the roller rings and rollers, thus advancing the dynamic timing to help battle INJECTION and IGNITION lag. :wink:
