i have a used turbo that i think is off of a 1.6 TD off of a Quantum.
it is VW PN# 068-145-703B
it has an Air Research M24 compressor housing with a .42 A/R and an unidentified turbine housing with a .38 A/R it does have the trapeziodial bolt pattern.
if this is indeed the 1.6 TD turbo do you think it would be suitable for use on a gasoline engine (specifically an aircooled VW engine).
also wondering what kind of shape its in. it has no side play and very little end play. shaft spins but has some resistance but no grinding noises. was told by an audi specialist that these turbos use dynamic bearings that will not spin freely without oil pressure
