Injection Pump Question

What years are the same for non-turbo 1.6 injection pumps? 1981-1985 and 1986-1992?

Going by the timing specs in the Bentley:

1977-1980 (no yellow dot)
1977-1980 (yellow dot)
1981-1982
1983-1984 N/A
1983-1984 Turbo

The N/As are all interchangable, though the pre-'81 non-yellow-dot pumps have worse performance.

I don't have a book for post-'84 VWs, sorry.

yea i had a 80 with a yellow dot pump,not like the 1.5 was bad enough,i know some of it was the pump, it wasa pig and if ya look at the specs dont ya jack the timing up to like 1.15 or so on a yellow dot???you dont even really have to answer me,they bite that bad.....like 81-84 most pumps are same,i think in 85 on they had the idle speed boost+stuff
back in the day i transplanted an 85 na  engine with a gti 5 speed into that same 80,it was like someone booted it in its na butt

I have a 90 Jetta, wondering if a pump from an 86 will work.
