Ok I have a few 1.6td and I keep hearing about the 1.9 crank Mod. I know this fixes a poor engineering job on the crank snout...but ya got any pictures and how to do it? Or maybe a link?

The pictures in my "how to" post ceased to work awhile ago. I'm not sure I have the energy to put them up again...

If you have a 1.6 you don't need to worry about this issue anyway. If you have a 1.9, the fix involves pulling the crank and welding the old keyway and the worn end of the crank then machining it down to accept a TDI crank pulley. The TDI pulley has a flat instead of a key and has been more reliable.
Edit - Repaired the images in the link, enjoy...

I only ask because of the 2 engines i have BOTH have a little 1/2 keyway space on the nose of the crank and there IS wear on one side of that keyway where it looks hammered. Just wondering if I should worry.
