Ok sweet, I take it all the boost gauges work for both petrol and diesel?

You want a boost guage that reads manifold pressure only, 0-35psi or 0-2.5 bar would be a suitable range. Boost guages for petrol usually read vacuum as well as boost. A diesel is unthrottled so it doesn't develop manifold vacuum, so there is no need for a vacuum scale on a diesel boost guage.

I got both kinds of guage in my car, and have yet to see vacuum...
I beleive my controller was $14 at McMaster Carr, but I had to do some threading and stuff.

My MBC arrived today. Does anyone have any links to pictures of a standard 1.6 TD turbocharger as I would like to study it more closely.

Thanks those are excellent pics. So that line you referred to, That would be what they mean when they say to hook up to the boost source?

yes, boost comes from the compressor side of turbo, through that line to the wastegate, which is the part with the fins on it in lower left of the side view picture.

ok excellent. What is that live made of, do I splice the tube from the MBC onto it? And is the wastegate actuator visible in any of those pics?

there is no actuator visible, just the wastegate can (with fins at bottom) which contains the diaphram. valve extends from diaphram into hot side of turbo, opens a passge to dump exhaust pressure out of the turbine area.
fspgtd has a thread with pictures of a kkk24 being dissasembled

line is steel, you probably need to take section out of the middle of it and attach the hoses from your controller to them, but check with the supplier for details of how the controller works
