WTB complete donor 1.6 engine, prefer turbo

Need a good solid complete 1.6 diesel, as my caddy engine is getting tired. Turbo preferred, but will take a NA. Must be low mileage or rebuilt with some sort of documentation / paper work. A 1.9 turbo or TDI conversion would be awesome, but I know that's pie in the sky stuff. Prefer pick up in FLA, but will consider shipping options as well.
Thanks
PS, I actually have the green $tuff!

Quantum Like New Turbo Diesel

I have a VW quantum that is getting a little rusty but it has a new (not rebuilt) VW 1.6 Turbo Diesel. The motor has about 30,000 miles on it. When I installed the new long block I also rebuilt the injector pump, replaced injectors, installed new water pump, New hoses, and new glow plugs. The car still drives but has some deer damage on the left fender. I have been looking for a car to put it in but havn't been successful yet. I would sell the whole car for $750

Thanks for the reply, but you're too far away.
I would also consider a complete rebuildable turbo diesel core engine as well. Prefer close to Florida. Anybody?

Still looking for TD core or complete engine. May consider early TDI as well. Present motor is on life support, buying oil by the case!

I've got a core motor for you.
1986 Jetta turbodiesel with hydraulic lifters.
Rings are probably toast, will not start.
Engine is complete. The turbo dump pipe and intake plumbing are different than the correct parts for the A1 chassis, but otherwise everything should bolt right up.
I'm in New Hampshire, but...
BONUS
- I'm driving a truck to Florida this weekend!!

I'm also looking into getting a complete 1.6 TD. The n/a I have now is really suffering from low compression and if I'm going to re-build I'd rather put in a td. I'm in the SW Michigan area.

Hi,
I'm in VT. How much do you want for that engine? Is it still in the jetta?
What town are you in?

I'm in Exeter, in southeastern NH. I might be able to deliver to southern Vermont.
$300 for a complete engine minus the airbox and alternator set-up. One is installed in the car, another I pulled very carefully from a non-crashed vehicle I bought.

The turbo, intake and all related piping is included. Only the airbox where the air filter is located is $25 extra, basically because I'm short one on another engine I have. The A/C compressor will be available if you want it, but probably won't be usable. The alternator and associated bracket are $40 extra, again because I'm short one on another engine. You probably won't be able to use many of my belt driven accessories anyway, because they are designed for the A2 chassis. Your stuff should bolt right up to this engine, fortunately.
The only point I was making earlier is that if you have an A1 platform car like a Rabbit, the cast iron dump pipe off the back of the turbo and the air hoses and airbox leading up to the intake side of the turbo are different. You could either make your own or track down the correct pieces from an '83-'84 Jetta or Rabbit turbodiesel.
The summary of all of this is that I am including everything that you will be able to use on an A1 chassis car; everything not included is exclusive to the A2 chassis.
