Replacing headgasket

Well now that i found a lower timing cover i can get to other things now.I have a few qestions on this mostly about parts.Should i get a 1.6 or a metal 1.9 gasket?Also should i use any kind of sealent and if so on what parts of the gastket?I was thinking of using the copper spray on kind.I will be geting the parts to do the job form PartsPlace.Thanks for any help.

Would it be ok to use a fel-pro gasket?

go with the 1.9 metal hg.  you won't be dissapointed :).

I think some other people on here have used the copper spray... I doubt it will hurt anything if applied properly.

I won't be able to get this done right away and i am in need of a car.So i was wondering how long could i get away with driving it with the blow head gasket?I do not plan to do this but i might have to.And there is not coolant in the old or oil in the coolant yet.Also the wire to the stop solenoid came out of the connector.Any ideas on how i can repair this?Thanks
