I have an 87 blazer to fix and it needs the injector pump rebuilt. Since it will be off and apart is there any thing i can do to it to squeek a few more ponys?
Really I have no idea. But I would like to know about your YJ. What transmission are you using?? I would love to do this to my 91 XJ.
i would try and see if i could bolt on a turbo setup i think i have seen a couple go for cheap on ebay. I also was thinking of doin a 1.6 or a 1.9 vw td in a yj. but i said screw it
The stanadyne DB2 pump is easy to adjust for increased quantity. It's even less hassle than the VE pump because max quantity adjustments have no effect on idle speed. This article refers to the ford 6.9/7.3 but the GM pump is the same.

ya those gms are real winners

6.2 and 6.5 are the same with the crank thing.6.5s arent as bad but those 6.2 s.......
my jeep has the stock AX5 5speed the truck was a 4cyl.
im not a fan of the gm diesels but its what i have to work on. they sound like they are gonna blow up at idle when new!
i have to update my website but there is a picture of my jeep on it

Hi the 6.2 chev is not as bad as I used to think .......... If you can get the one w the serpentine belt get up ..... the J model is the one you want....... they aren't the horse power kings..... but their the lightest V8 , they have the highest rev limit (3600) and are cheep... bolt on a turbo...
banks makes a turbo kit for the 6.2 that gives it more *** than a stock 6.5. and its all mechanical

6.5's are good, but they have too many electronic issues.
why would you put a vw diesel in a yj? I'm not criticizing, i'm just curious. I would swap out the four banger for a 4.0 before anything else. It's just that the vw diesels are so small displacement. why not a cummins 4 or a smaller 6 cylinder of some sort? again just curious.
i think i am gonna make a home brew banks wanna be.
the gas 4cyl had to go. it almost does 55mph with 33's in 4th gear. i had to change the engine. i decided on the vw because i knew how to work on it and at the time i couldnt afford a 4cyl cummins. diesels are cool and i wasnt going to put in a gas motor in it and i like to be different.
york?
yep. home of the jeep show. btw if you were there you may have seen the guy with what i belive to be an izuzu turbo diesel six in it. that was the best sounding diesel there. None of the engine swaps are all that simple, and the 4.0 is easier to swap as long as your only bolting power mods on. trust me, don't build one up. there will be more problems than you can imagine. so did you put the VW motor in? I'm curious how that went.
volvo powered jeep, thats cool
