Different Crankshaft bolts ???
« on: May 12, 2006, 12:13:22 pm »
Ok I have an 87 TD with the 19mm hex style crank bolt. I remember reading in the bently this specific bolt did not have to be replaced(unlike the 12 point one). My question is does anyone know what the torque specs are for this bolt?? the only info I can find is for the newer style (stretch) bolts. From my understanding the one I currently have is not a stretch bolt. Thanks in advance  :D

According to my fact. rep. manual for my '85 TD: "The hex-type M14x1.5 crank bolt is to be lubricated before installing and torqued to 200 Nm (147 ft/lb)"
Hope this helps . Must be the same as yours.
