I have a 96 Jetta 1.9TD AAZ motor with KO3 . Timing belt needs changed . Does the belt and tensioner use the same # as the later TDI's? What would be the best manual to use?

My euro ETKA says the belt and tensioner are same for TDI engine codes 1Z and AFN. I presume American would be same?

Actually this is a Canadian model made in Mexico. Some places I try to get info, list this as a  TDI or some list as Eco diesel.Timing belt # for 1Z/AHU is 028 109 119P and tensioner # is 028 109 243F. Is this the same for the AAZ javascript:emoticon(':?:')

I used ETKA6 Euro version.

Theres a online ETKA you can look but its in Russian.
http://www.elcats.ru/audivw/

Once you get passed first selection, ie engine, you can then click on a name of sub parts and a preveiw picture apears so you can see what sub part u clicked on, if you want to select it click on the button under the picture and the next screen is mostly English. You can also check out the rough price your gona expect to pay for a part in USDollar but obviously the prices are for Russian market (but roughly wont be much different)

The first screen order is like this:

Accesories
Engine, Clutch
Fuel Tank, Exhaust and Heater
Transmission
Front axle, Diff and Steering
Rear axle
Wheels and brakes
Hand and foot levers
Body
Electrical System

Hope this helps.
