how far do you go on a tank?

what you guys say to be the best additive to use, my last tank i used STP injector cleaner and fuel treatment, but didn't notice to much,  I've been averaging 37 MPG the last month and a bit. I want to go further on a tank

Solutions/reasons
1) Your rebuild mechanics swapped a gasser in whilst your head was turned.
2) You're driving a tank with a VW badge.
3) You have a limited edition drug smuggler's fuel tank.

MIlage now is 142k hmm im not really sure what the hell is wrong with teh bastard, it seems to be ok on power, has around 9-10 psi, tends to smoke when beating it and I do have a heavy foot I must say but still :?

I get 800km city and 1000+  highway. I once went from Calgary to Nanaimo on one tank of fuel, 1100km, and that's over the Rockies.

I got 1179.1 km on my last tank with my 1992 Jetta (1985 1.6D in it).

The car is not aligned and I don't have a cruise control yet.

My guess is that I'll be able to see 1400 ++++ km per tank eventually.

BTW, the tank capacity on A2's is exactly 59.9 litres.

I got to my favorite station and when the jetta saw the pump, she died. :oops:

5 seconds of cranking and I was back on the road.

For this tank, 350 km before the gauge gets off the full mark and 500 km at 3/4.

Not as economical as my B4 passat, but a fun little car nonetheless.

So my Rabbit  got a little over 50mpg coming home over Donner Pass(I was in a hurry!)  from central Nevada sunday night ,,,,240000 miles not bad...  and this w my 14x6 24 inch dirt road tires to boot too!  I'm very

I got 4.39 l/100 km on my second to last tank, best so far.

I went in hilly terrain and got 5.26 (filled up monday).

Here's a bad combinaison: 10% hills and 1.6D NA... :?

I had to go uphill in 3rd at 4500 rpm... :cry:

Yikes, what's up with my 1.6D??
I typically have been getting only 750 km's per tank for past couple years, drive around 120km's / hour.
Original everything, must be my leaking pump head and injectors.
I once did get 1000k out of a tank 10 years ago but drove under 100 all week.

Drive slower and change you pump's seals, you should get better mileage then. :wink:

For this tank I got to 820 before the needle gets off the white half way mark.

Will fill up today and report back (1111 km so far). :twisted:
