2008 diesel?
« on: July 07, 2006, 11:03:38 am »
I have a 02 Jetta wgn, desiel, standard and love it.  We get 56 to 58 mpg and go as fast as anyone else.  Handles well, etc.  BUT, the cloth interior is not dog friendly, especially Corgi's.  The dealers have been bugging me to trade it in because there is such a demand. Okay, fine, but as far as I can find out, no new jetta's, no diesel in the Passat or Rabbit until 2008.  Well, that sucks.  Anyone have any news on this.  I understand the reason is that to mean all of the new reg's in the US, that is the reason.

You should just get leather seats and swap them in

to trade a used car for a new one because of some dogs is a little extreme?

why not put a rubber floor mat in the back, and try washing those dogs and grooming them once in a while.

i live on a dirt road and have a dog that frequently takes trips with me. my car isnt a mess.

We have new jetta tdi's here. But no mkv wagon. VW isn't the smartest, They stop making the wagon, which they couldn't keep on the lot. Than they take their best selling golf, the diesel, and stop making it. If vw put the same amount of production into the TDI as they did the gasser they'd have enough to go around. We wouldn't have to wait 6 months to get one.

Keep the wagon you have, you may never get another one. You could always switch out the seats, or put some covers on them. It sure would be much less money than buying a new car.
