Front Suspension work on my Rabbit ?
« on: May 04, 2006, 07:36:54 pm »
Hey guys;
I need to do some serious front end work on my Rabbit before she's road worthy :(. I need to replace the front control arms, ball joints and front shocks.

I will have a VW apprentice Mechanic friend helping me, but I like to learn as much as I can about my car so wonder if anyone else has done this work and what is involved?
Pics or diagrams would be nice too :).
I have done the rear shocks myself (with some help  :oops:  ) and they weren't too hard, but there is sooo much more "stuff" up front ;).

I just really want to get this car back on the road as I have lots of BioDiesel ready to burn and got a bunch more WVO waiting to made INTO BioDiesel!! (and I'm sick of paying over $1/litre for gas for my BIG Chevy truck!!!) :roll:

Thanks!  :D

I've just helped a buddy of mine do his tokico suspension on his mk2, I'm sure a mk1 isn't all that much different... I've replied to your post in the GTG section as well...

(maybe if you have spring compressors I might replace my drivers side front spring while I'm at it)

lmk
thanks
