well it started out with what i thought was my injection pump leaking, but it turned out to be a combo of a few things..... in the last week ive replaced a stuck thermostat, a swollen lower radiator hose and also the water pump itself. no more coolant leaking anymore, but my engine temps keep going up!!!!
i tried to not drive the car until i fixed the problem, but i took it out on sunday and the upper radiator inlet broke right where the hose attaches to it. so now i have a new radiator on the way, but im not sure if this will fix the problem. im also worried i might've overheated the engine, but it ran pretty well yesterday without the radiator on it. i only let the car run for maybe a minute though.
ive had a few suggestions on how to check if HG is blown or maybe my head is warped, but im curious what the experts here think. TIA
got the radiator installed today and it runs much cooler, temp gauge stays in the middle like it should. we'll see if anything changes in the next few days
i'm curious as to whether or not an old radiator is capable of being cleaned to the specs of a new radiator (using some CLR to get rid of deposits??)
or just buy a new one for $100?
