Cold start shaft leaking on 1.9 IP

A guy on the SVO/WVO conversion forums has a pump that he thinks is leaking from the cold start o-ring.

How hard would it be to change the o-ring? I've never done it myself, so thought I'd ask the question here and send him the link.
