this turbo owes me nothing,,i ran it on my truck, for about 2 years,, and then about 1.5 years on my 1.6 td also ,,,a lot of the time i ran the boost controller closed/full boost. im just glad it wasnt the intake side!

How much boost were you making at the time.I guess if you know the weight of your car you could figure out what kind of hp it was making.

oh i dont push normal boost,,,i was pushing "S" pounds,, ,thats my vdo 30psi boost guage ,going halfway between 30 and the zero pointer. my guage says "psi" in that spot so, s pounds of boost,,about 35 i figure,,,,,
,,see the set of 3 guages onthe right?? the one in the middle of them is boost, i dunno if its visible or not,,the other day i rode shotgun while a buddy drove,,i saw it go to the zero pointer a few times in 5th gear,,,

Thats cool man, I know exactly what that one sounds like, racin around than boom lots of smoke and this little rattle of turbine wheel pieces going through the dp and out the exhaust  I've blown up about 3 or 4 of those, well between me and my buddies in our diesels anyways.
Good time too man keep it up, hope to get some times in my caddy mech tdi this summer too

yea, spooky,,was a t3 from an 86 jetta td,,a lot of bad things coulda happened,,,heater hose, thru firewall,in my leg  maybe hit the brake bottle and snap it off,,it would stop,,once:)i almost threw up as i was shutting it down at speed, thinkin 4500$ were down the toilet  is it the exhaust side that usually goes?? nothing happened on the compressor side,,thank god!!!,,i got it all swapped over to a kkk now,,worst thing is im all itchy from the wrap, iran it for a minute to check for leaks etc, checked ok. its gonna smell bad once it warms up! you gotta be careful, sometimes the wrap will catch fire if oil soaked, take it to car wash and clean 'er out later

Yeah..... folks ain't gonna like to be behind you when you cook the oil outta the pipes!!
Blew a turbine in a Mack a few years ago, shop replaced the turbo, but didn't "drain the oil" from the exhaust. LOL....... killed a 100 yd wide swath of bugs for the first 20 miles!

we never clean them out, heck i work with jokers, they would pour in some more to be sure!!,,we drive them to burn them out, heehee, its fun,yea the thing is loaded inside the exhaust,,it was funnydriving itlike that,,musta caused a vacuum above 3000 rpms, and drew oil up thru the drain,,,cause i had the feed plugged toget home,,ihad to do about 55 or so all the way back,,any more,it would fog big time!!!,,,,,actually, imgonna go "burn 'er out " right now, except it sucks its raining,no traction

Very nice times... get some better traction, and your 60ft time will drop you into a 13 second run
I might have a turbo for you...
