gov mod on 1.9L AAZ
« on: April 20, 2006, 06:09:28 pm »
i have a AAZ 1.9L in my 89 jetta flair and i want to do the gov mod. the gov cover on my pump is far more complex than a 1.6 td pump. so can i put a 1.6 TD cover on my 1.9 pump to make life easier. the pumps are so close to the same that it should work i think. i have do some mods all ready boost controller 26 psi, gtd nozzles, soon 2.5 inch exhaust from turbo back. it g teched at 96 horse and 147 torque a nice gain thus far. still give wicked milage 650km on 40$, at 1.09 a liter.

Yeah the 1.9 pumps are buggers to do governor mods on, you can definately switch the pump tops but I would just throw the 1.6lda pin in and call her good. When you re installing the governor assmbly on these pumps you gotta open up that little lever thing on the front of the pump that is in the way. I just picked upa  94 jetta with the crank issue for myself that I willrebuild so I will try and snap some pics when I do the governor mod.
