2005 Golf Engine Stand Alone?
«

...so I rebuilt a 1990 Jetta engine for marine use with the help of this forum a few years ago
...now I have a 2005 Golf which will be scrapped soon because its body is no longer good due to salt and gravel
...can I pull its engine and run it without all of the computer input in another marine application? Can it be stripped down enough and simply wired with a throttle cable?
Thanks
Craig

Is it an ALH or one of the PD motors? I would assume 2005 is PD. In that case, going mTDI would not really be feasible. If it is an ALH, then mTDI is very easy.
