This pump has never had diesel run through it. Due to it's age, I removed the timing covers to make sure that the insides weren't gummed up from sitting. The insides showed no signs of corrosion and actually still had calibration fluid in it. There was slight gumming or staining from the calibration fluid. I tried moving the advance piston and it does move but it feels a bit stiff. It may just be where the pump is in it's rotation though. The pump is missing the stop solenoid and associated pieces and also a spring and some clips from the advance lever. I'm not able to turn the driveshaft over because I don't have the correct pulley.
Due to the age of the pump, it's possible that it will need to be resealed. I did replace both advance cover seals.
As best I can tell, this is off an Audi 80. Is bolt on for a VW 1.6TD with the exception of the throttle cable. All you would need to do is swap the ball joint from your pump to this one and it would be bolt on.
