nice rust repair,,i told ya this car WAS bad,,this repair started when i started cleaning out the rocker drain,,turned intoa biggie!!!,,shoulda seen outer rocker too,,,theres no pinchweld now for about 10 inches,,,,i didnt "finish" welding where the  bottom firewall meets the inner rocker,,wanna wait for a  real good rain storm, cause if theres a leak,,ill haveta go in there for more welding,,,heh, wish i had pics of it last winter,,rotted out lower windshield,, outer sheetmetal,,and inner dash too,,,,took about 3 months,a couple hours each night after work,,,and most of saturdays,,,,,,,,,,,with fenders removed,i could see into the footwell,,big holes,,,,fenders are new,but one was damaged in shipping,,had to hammer/dolly,and weld on it,,they dont fit too good,,,,,and the lower windshield sheetmetal, had some wierd wrinkles in the stamping,,,,,,totally unacceptable for a resto,,but ok for a beater
Throttle cables ftw

I covered my floor plan over with roofing Tar,  wasn't too bad for my first welding job. I must have spent over 20 hrs of welding and fabricating to get the floor to spec.

I understood VW's spec to be, "Fred and Barney must be easily able to put both feet on the ground  "
