its obvious its a 1.9 head, its also a TDI head, TDI injectors. can you even get a TDI head to work on an AAZ block? or even a 1.6 lower end? didnt think they are compatible. is that an old Type3? looks interesting, if not engine compartment restrictive. a good running 1.9 should have a lot of power.
A mk3 TDI head (as seen here) will bolt up to a 1.6 block. There is a Euro market TDI piston with the correct wristpin bore, wristpin height, piston diameter, etc... that would work in a 1.6 block in order to create a 1.6TDI. I considered building one a while back, but the pistons are more expensive than just buying a 1.9TDI engine. There also really no downside to the additional displacement as you really only consume more fuel when you're using the extra power. So... it's possible that it is a 1.6 block but that's incredibly unlikely.
