I know this is not the best way to do this, but I would like a few opinions anyway.
Why do this??? Money, facilities, skill, expected life
Take your pick.
Without removing the engine, can the cylinders be honed, if needed, and the pistons, rings and rod bearing be replaced with new parts if needed?? If the cylinders and pistons are not a complete disaster, then just hone, and put in new piston rings. Also, new big end rod bearings.
If the honing is a problem(contamination), then just replace the rings?
? What would be the minimum???
Couldn't the crank be covered up and kept clean? then the block rinsed??? (I can just hear the moaning!!!!)
Might this be acceptable on some level?
Or will it do no good at all???
I can’t pull the engine myself. This would be done with having the head rebuilt at a local shop.
