GTD nozzles tested!
« on: April 11, 2006, 05:04:00 pm »
Today I put in my new GTD nozzles, very easy job with the hardware kit including retur hose and the seals form TDtuning!!  :D

Its dark outside now so I didnt see how its smoking, need to take adjustment tomorrow.

BUT....I think engine is a little bit more noisy now...more rattle, more diesel sound. (The old nozzles was very worn, I dont think they have been changed sinze car was new.....)

Maybe I have to back of timeing a bit to get ride of the noise??

Because I wasnt pleased with the resault I pulled the injectors from the engine and did a pop test.....lowest was 137 and one was 150 bar.
Big difference in spray pattern too.

Now I have shimmed the injectors to 165 bar and they now spray the same.

Have to put them in and test drive...... 8)

Now i have been test driving again.....starting was great, still a little more diesel sound even when its warm. Pulls maybe a little better but biggest difference is that the smoke is mostly gone!! :) EGT is lower also!

I was looking at getting some GTD nozzles. I wonder what a difference I would see since I had my pump done by Giles?  Anyone else have anything to say about GTD nozzles?

i wonder if you'd have noticed the same difference from an overhauled set of OE nozzles?

my car smoked
less, sounded different, and ran much smoother after the new injectors went in.
