Camshaft interchangeable between heads?

1.6TD MF.

Heres the thing. I blow a lot of smoke on WOT and with a little oil in the coolant reservoir Im sure Ive got a cylinder head issue of some kind. I found a clean, cheap '85 TD head on local classifieds and drove out 2 hours to get it. When I got there I realized why it was so cheap: the cam and securing blocks were missing. Being all the way out there I took it. The question is: when i swap the heads can I port my existing cam and blocks to the new replacement head? They are both hydro heads.

At the same time I might as well do my timing belt. Is there anything else I should change while I do all this? What can I/should I check before ordering parts?
Humbly rolling coal.

The cam caps are specific to the head casting they were paired with (much like main bearing caps). You will need a machine shop to line bore the cam journals assuming they can make those caps work. Or you can just swap heads...
