WTB fuel sender unit

Tried to clean up mine fuel sender unit but seems like I messed it up because it is not working anymore. So I need a good used working one or if anyone knows where to find a new one that would be great. This is for a 81 Vw rabbit pickup diesel. Thanks

Is this that big 24 mm nut on the back of the pump with the electric shutoff built in?  Not sure what it is you are referencing here.

My guess is the fuel gauge sending unit.

sorry for slow reply yes libbydiesel is right. Let me know if anyone has one. Yet i think its more of ground wiring issue though.
