VW T4 2.5 turbo on 1.6TD mk2

Hello! I hope iam at right section, but i have a 1990 Golf mk2 with 1.6TD (60ps??), and i found a VW t4 turbo ment for the 2.5tdi (and also 2.4aab).Is this a bolt on, with nothing modifiing, and welding and so on? I seached a bit, and i found out this turbo is a K14, is it a good alternative? I see a lot of you have this turbo :-)

The 1.6TD came stock with the K14 turbo so that's why a lot of us have it. Very little but quick spooling turbo; I used to have one on mine and I dearly miss that thing mine was starved of oil for a split second and she seized. Now I got a Garret T3 and it's not the same car; I run more boost but it's not much help when you want boost at low rpms. Take that into consideration with what your trying to accomplish. Bigger isn't always better. Plus the K14 was a noisier turbo
