I am having problems with my 1.6L na diesel and as a result, it may need to be rebuilt. I love my diesel and want to keep my van diesel as well. After comparing pricing of what the mechanic said, I found that I can likely get a motor and swap it in cheaper than rebuilding my old engine. I was quoted roughly $2,500 to rebuild, before labor. He says the parts are becoming difficult to find to rebuild the 1.6L na.
So now I am left trying to find an engine. My time line is not super strict but I would love to find something reasonable. I am looking for a good running engine. I would prefer the 1.9L na just to cut down on cost of product and install. For the right price of an engine with transmission to go in my van, I would put a 1.9L turbo. If anyone has anything or knows of anything please let me know!
